People who love cars and driving wull agree about how close they feel to their 4-wheeled machines. Nothing can beat the rush of adrenaline every time you lay pedal to the metal, nor can any sound beat the thrum of a V8 engine. But as a car lover and driving aficionado, I can attest to the fact that taking care of your car, especially in a place like India where small dents and scratches are par for the course, is extremely time-consuming, and downright difficult at times.
This is where Pitzop comes to the rescue. Dedicated to petrolheads while still being accessible for the common man, Pitzop aims to simplify your car's up-keep by enabling you to quickly and efficiently reach out to local service providers.
Features
The app itself has a simple design language, and everything is laid out clearly in front of your eyes. There is a scrolling top banner which lists out various deals and discounts available at different outlets.
At the bottom, categories are differentiated into different rows, such as Service and Repair, Accessories, Wheel, and Fuel. Each category has sub-categories, allowing you to finely tune and zero in on your exact requirements.
A Garage - full of Listings
One of the best things about the app is that the listing it provides are curated well, and give you a quick insight into each service providers' area of expertise, it's timings, the brands it services, and facilities available.
Clicking on the small map icon at the far right bottom takes you to a map view of the services around you, helping you get a quick layout of their exact location, clicking on which takes you to the servicers page, from where you can call them as well as check out their services.
Each service is also accompanied by reviews, and although they are very sparse now, I am sure this particular column will fill up in no time once more people start using the app.
Hidden Under the Hood
One of the most useful features of the app, and which is surprisingly hidden in the left-swipe contextual menu, is the "Get a Quote" feature. Using this, the app will help you get an instant quote based on the make and model of your car, the exact nature of the service required, etc. This in turn will help you make comparisons and zero in on a suitable vendor.
The app also comes inbuilt with a diagnostic function, which at least, at the moment is not fully featured as one would expect. After selecting the model of your car, the app will tell you the meaning of the different icons which frequently light up in your cars dashboard or behind the steering wheel, but nothing more after that.
Pros
- A one-of-a-kind app to connect car lovers to professional service providers.
- Easy to use and fast navigation.
- Locational hunting allows you to discover amazing car service guys while making use of discounts.
Cons
- Very few reviews are available for different service providers as of now.
- The diagnostic feature had a lot of promise but seems half-baked right now.
Final Verdict
Pitzop is one of those apps which help to cure an itch you never knew had. Not only does it aim to solve the conundrum of hunting the right professionals to work on your car, but also makes it easy to get in touch with them.
Personally, I feel this app deserves more than a fighting chance, and I will be using it long after writing this review  given for useful is features are.
